The Indian media have coined a new word for astronauts from that nation, to join "cosmonaut" for Russian spacefarers, and "taikonaut" for Chinese spacemen. Indian persons in space are to be dubbed "vyomanauts" from the Sanskrit word "vyoma" meaning "sky".
