Gienah (Gienah Ghurab) derives from the Arabic phrase Al Janah al Ghurab al Aiman meaning "The Right Wing of the Raven."
Description of the Star
Gienah is a hot B8IIIpHgMn blue giant star about 4 times larger in diameter than the sun and about 200 times as luminous. It is surrounded by an expanding shell of material expelled from the star.
